I couldn’t do this in 140 characters as Twitter allows per tweet so I decided to post it here because I felt it was too awesome not to memorialize.
I tweeted the following picture with the caption: Love how grand the earth is. Lush green can grow through the toughest concrete.

@DavidWeedmark retweeted the pictured addding: Just @so_you_know Love it. Always a fav metaphor on why I don’t fear the end of the world. Life is irrepressible.
I liked that so much that I retweeted it back.
And then @VJaugelis retweeted the above and added: RT @DavidWeedmark RT @so_you_know Life is irrepressible/reminds me of the Wump World

How did you bypass Facebook altogether and start gliding on Twitter? This has become my third most
frequently asked question; therefore, I decided to formally address it in this space so I can provide the one asking a link if a quick drive-by answer does not suffice. This is not a debate, please. I have just been asked this way too many times. If you like both, good for you. If you like Facebook better, good for you. Do you.

I don’t understand how anyone gets disappointed when someone misses his or her birthday–like the actual day.
I don’t even correct people when they get the day wrong! But they don’t get as many cool points if they miss the month completely…
Not because you should outgrow celebrating and hence shouldn’t mind but because doesn’t everyone celebrate the entire month? They don’t? I do! Not only do I celebrate my birthday the entire month—I even celebrate in July when I was conceived (no need to ask rental units, your parents, just google birthday calculator and something on point will come up, I did several years ago and don’t recall the website now but do know it was Bastille Day). Moreover, I even celebrate my half birthday which I probably mess up due to mathematics involved and this only means I celebrate my half birthday twice.
Oh and here is more–I celebrate advent style some years–kind of like days leading up to Christmas–so the entire month prior to my actual month.
Most parents or family members don’t stop talking about the “new baby” right after they are born–so why should we celebrate only the first day we come out in the world, stuck in a hospital, all yucky?
And then I also celebrate the day of my other conception when I said out loud to another, “I w.r.i.t.e.” for the first time in my life–which just so happens to be in the same month as my birthday month, so there is another day.
I mean it doesn’t have to be a five course dinner with everyone you know every time you “celebrate” in the manner I do… but more than anything else, it just reinforces celebrating LIFE–mine and others, every moment, even when it is dark and I am fed up with clouds (literal or figurative) and especially when sunshine beams through and through, within and on the blue marble, earth.

This picture was taken around July 12th 2009.
I wish I could do it again. Soon. Craving the sun. California = sunny = big fat myth.
This picture was sent via email to some friends along with the following email:
- the picture below—i just had to share. I had to text and find out what the heck these thingys are called even though i had seen them for ages in kansas and california and so many other places (thanks melissa for texting me back and letting me know what they are called—a HAY BALE!). well, this picture was taken a few days ago in south dakota….near chamberlin….in route to one of the native american reservations.
- i begged mama to let me climb one. because i had always wondered what it would be like to roll on one…and well…let me tell you it was NOT an easy task to climb on it. THEY LOOK SMALL FROM AFAR BUT THEY ARE AS TALL AS ME!!!!
- we had to dig out a suit case from the trunk of my car to climb this and even then it took a lot of my upper body strength and THEN i had to endure nicks and cuts and scraps…but i did and i tell you…..i was SOOOO HAPPY! it was the best. i could have laid on that thing under the sun for a long time!!!! on the small highway next to us, people were honking on by—which reaffirmed they too had thought about doing this at some point!
