October 2nd.

Lymph nodes for spiritual bacteria. Dialogue with the body (video link to blindfolded yoga with Marco Rojas). Notes from Protests and Revolutions: the phenomena needed for a revolutionary movement.

The windows in the bedroom had to be closed last night. The room was chilled from the October breeze, a carrier with a post-card from the future: winter is around the corner.

I wish I didn’t write as slowly as I do. I wish I didn’t see putting words on paper as setting lights on a stage (and on worse days delivering thought babies!). I wish I wrote as fast on Sunday mornings and when I attempt fiction as when I am writing an ... read more »

To balance upside down in the dark

Long before the yoga studio where I have to be a member in order to attend Marco Rojas’s classes hopped on board with “blindfolded yoga” as the newest yoga trend, Marco used to teach yoga with eyes closed. He began this because one particular time during class he had a sight-impaired student. Marco decided that we should all experience the poses with our eyes closed.

One thing you learn if you have a consistent yoga practice is how often your body and emotions shift in a given twenty-four hours.

Tuesday there is no yoga class.

Wednesday around 2:oo p.m. I began sensing this tightness shoot up and around like a grapevine hugging my legs. My adductor group of muscles around the hips coiled into an unexpected stiffness within a span of an hour.  Around 3:oo p.m. I contained ... read more »

March 13th.

“Who Owns Kafka?” Neither artists nor their supporters can circumvent certain questions. Courage requires much more than strength.

Reports estimate that the 8.9-magnitude quake in Japan on Friday shifted the planet on its ... read more »
