Still Sundays
October 9th.
Filmmaker Nathaniel Dorsky on “self-existing magic of things” and more. Your talent is a body. Marc Jacobs on innovation.
I find myself intellectually incapable to accept any of the etymologies offered behind “Indian Summer” and google’s curation of history doesn’t satisfy.
October is a solid indigo night, made for returning and leaving at the same time.
Autumn in New York is the muse for so many jazz compositions because only music can capture an indigo night.

October 2nd.
Lymph nodes for spiritual bacteria. Dialogue with the body (video link to blindfolded yoga with Marco Rojas). Notes from Protests and Revolutions: the phenomena needed for a revolutionary movement.
The windows in the bedroom had to be closed last night. The room was chilled from the October breeze, a carrier with a post-card from the future: winter is around the corner.
I wish I didn’t write as slowly as I do. I wish I didn’t see putting words on paper as setting lights on a stage (and on worse days delivering thought babies!). I wish I wrote as fast on Sunday mornings and when I attempt fiction as when I am writing an ... read more »

I love the trees in Bryant Park and in the summer time they even have a reading room!
NYC subways are notorious for musicians playing their tunes…
The first guy had a nice set of drums I must say. He goes by King. I didn’t talk to the second guy as I would have missed my train.
The other photos are just shots of the view from 31st and 6th avenue (I think!) on the West Side.
Saw these two practicing some yoga together. I know the amount of trust it requires to ... read more »

One thing you learn if you have a consistent yoga practice is how often your body and emotions shift in a given twenty-four hours.
Saturday, Sunday and Monday when I attended Marco Rojas’ yoga classes I was ecstatic to discover my synchronized breathing with the yoga postures. I welcomed a new strength in my flexibility which felt beyond ‘natural’: it was grounded, not merely stretchy.
Tuesday there is no yoga class.
Wednesday around 2:oo p.m. I began sensing this tightness shoot up and around like a grapevine hugging my legs. My adductor group of muscles around the hips coiled into an unexpected stiffness within a span of an hour. Around 3:oo p.m. I contained ... read more »
