His-story of Blue
“All colors exist to satisfy the longing for blue.” ~ Pablo Neruda
Sometimes the most beautiful people are so beautiful that we overlook them, like an extra blue sky without which a beautiful day would remain wanting.
Creating Art, making music that moves, is something blue.
Blue is a canvas for canvassing stories too.
He tells me, “Every where we go, a poet was there first.”
This reminds me of “Asphodel, That Greeny Flower” by William Carlos William: “It is difficult to get the news from poems, yet men die miserably every day for lack of what is found there.”
Mama doesn’t know many poems by William Carlos Williams yet she told me today that if any writer or artist wants to create for an audience first and foremost, in a digital realm or some real stage, then he or she has missed out on the best part of creating. “Don’t confuse that with writing about or for yourself only though,” she added. William Carlos Williams knew: “….it’ll be good if the authentic spirit of change is on it…”
I think there are so many shades of blue because it has an ‘authentic spirit of change’ that is much needed to thrive.
My shade of blue.
